The Branch is and acts as a Branch of the Australian Resuscitation Branch Inc.


The aims and objectives for which the Branch is established in NSW are:

Aims:

  • To foster and co-ordinate in NSW the practice and teaching of resuscitation;
  • To promote uniformity and standardisation of resuscitation techniques;
  • To act in NSW as a voluntary co-ordinating body.
Objectives:
  • To provide a forum for discussion of all aspects of resuscitation
  • To foster interest in, and promulgate information regarding resuscitation
  • To gather and collate scientific information regarding resuscitation techniques; to consider a modification of those techniques where appropriate on the basis of such information.
  • To promote simplicity and uniformity in techniques and terminology regarding resuscitation
  • To provide an advisory and resource service regarding techniques, teaching methods and teaching aids in accordance with national policies
  • To foster research into methods of teaching and practice of resuscitation.
  • To pursue the development of standards for training;
  • To establish regular communications with other bodies with similar objectives in NSW
  • To consider and advise on the means of preventing circumstances in which resuscitation may become necessary
  • To do all such acts and things as are incidental, or subsidiary to all or any of the above objectives.
